Peter Ott, CPA, CA, CBV is a Chartered Business Valuator that specializes in the analysis and valuation of business enterprises, shareholder ownership interests, intangible assets, fairness opinions and valuation for financial reporting and taxation purposes.

Peter is Vice Chair of the International Institute of Business Valuers (iiBV). The iiBV, together with its member associations, leads the business valuation profession globally by providing educational opportunities, promoting consistent professional ethics and standards, facilitating the exchange of information and ideas, and encouraging international co-operation and communication.
Previously Peter was a member of several committees and task forces of CBV Institute, including its Professional Practice and Standards Committee. CBV Institute is nationally and internationally recognized as the pre-eminent business valuation organization in Canada. As a not-for-profit valuation professional organization, CBV Institute establishes the practice standards, educational requirements, and ethical guidelines, which support and promote the integrity of the CBV profession for the benefit of its more than 1,800 Members.
Peter regularly participates at the Appraisal Issues Task Force (AITF), a US-based group of professional appraisers who meet to establish and interpret the use of fair value measures in financial reporting and work with the FASB and the SEC to evaluate proposals and recommend valuation methodologies and approaches.
